Missing Thunderstorms

We were forcast 3 days of thunderstorms but apart from a shower at midnight last night no storms. It has been a litle cloudy and cooler but nothing more. Today sun was shining and it was hot again.
All the blocks are now finished and I have planned and photographed the layout but only the first two sewn together. It may be a few weeks before I get round to doing much more.
I have been busy cooking today as we have the family coming round tomorrow evening to see our new apartment.
We leave for the UK next Wednesday and off on our cruise on Friday so I need to prepare clothes and pack!!!
We will not return until Nov 5th so things will be quiet for a few weeks

Change in the Weather

Today was much cooler and the wind brought with it some rain!!, but only for a short while this morning.  I had almost forgotten what it was like to be out in rain after three dry months. I am sure the sun will be back tomorrow.
I have managed to do a little sewing, blocks are all pieced and I am just preparing the last ones for quilting. I  really dont know how some of you manage to do so much sewing, especially as many of you have a family and a job. I dont know where my time goes!!
I have decided on my border and I have been working out the extra fabric I will need to buy when I go to the UK next month. I have yet to find any good shops in Malta so I will have to rely on trips abroad and the internet.
Well back to the machine!

My First Blog!!

This is my very first blog and I cant imagine I am going to write anything that anyone will want to read.  I started quilting four years ago when I took an early retirement but everytime I get involved wih a project something seems to happen and it never gets finished, so I have several unfinished projcts.
We made the decision to move to Malta on New Years Eve and here we are. Life has been very busy and I have had little time for sewing, not least because it has been so hot, but hopefully things will now settle down.

I am trying to finish my very first project which was a log cabin sampler quilt. I have had to make more blocks because we now have a bigger bed, but I am on the lastso I will be putting it together soon. I am  now thinking about what border I will make.
